India–Germany sign telecom cooperation agreement:

India and Germany have signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) on Telecommunications Cooperation during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to India from January 12–13, 2026. The agreement was concluded between India’s Department of Telecommunications and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation, following discussions between the two leaders.
