  • India has withdrawn all its troops from the Maldives ahead of the May 10 deadline set by President Mohammed Muizzu for the withdrawal of Indian military personnel.
  • The Indian military personnel were deployed in the Maldives for operation and maintenance of two helicopters and Dornier aircraft that were earlier gifted by India. 
  • The Maldives government had earlier announced that 51 of these soldiers had been repatriated to India, citing the presence of 89 Indian troops in the country based on official documents, while the country had agreed to withdraw the remaining Indian troops before May 10.
