India has been appointed Vice-Chair of the Supply Chain Council under the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), emphasizing its critical role in enhancing regional supply chain resilience.
The IPEF has established three key bodies with elected Chairs and Vice-Chairs for a two-year term: the Supply Chain Council (USA Chair, India Vice-Chair), the Crisis Response Network (Republic of Korea Chair, Japan Vice-Chair), and the Labor Rights Advisory Board (USA Chair, Fiji Vice-Chair).
The IPEF agreement aims to mitigate supply chain disruptions, reduce dependency on China, and enhance crisis coordination, focusing on sectors crucial for national security, public health, and economic well-being.
