  • India has been elected to the Inter-governmental Committee of UNESCO's 2003 Convention for safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) for four years.
  • This is the third time that India has been elected to the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the IHC. India has previously served as a member of the ICH Committee twice - from 2006 to 2010 and from 2014 to 2018.
  • The Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention consists of 24 members, which are elected by the General Assembly of the States Parties.
