India concluded its campaign at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025 in New Delhi with a record-breaking haul of 22 medals (6 gold, 9 silver and 7 bronze) marking the nation’s best-ever performance in the event’s history. On the final day, India added three silver medals and one bronze through stellar performances by Simran Sharma, Preethi Pal, Navdeep Singh and Sandeep. Simran set a new Asian record in the women’s 200m T12, while Preethi and Navdeep delivered season-best results. The overall tally surpassed last year’s 17 medals from Kobe, showcasing India’s remarkable rise in para athletics. With 73 athletes representing the nation, the championship highlighted India’s growing strength, consistency, and international competitiveness in adaptive sports.
