India celebrated 11 years of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) on April 8, 2026.
Launched by PM Narendra Modi in 2015, the scheme provides collateral-free loans up to ₹20 lakh.
It aims to “Fund the Unfunded” for small and micro enterprises in non-farm sectors.
Over 57.79 crore loans worth ₹40.07 lakh crore have been disbursed so far.
Nearly 67% loans went to women entrepreneurs and 51% to SC/ST & OBC communities.
The scheme has boosted self-employment and financial inclusion across the country.
The Finance Minister called it a “silent transformation” in empowering small businesses.
