India has created history by becoming the first non-NATO country to participate in Spain’s Ocean Sky 2025 exercise, held at Gando Air Base, Gran Canaria, from October 20 to 31, 2025. The Indian Air Force (IAF) deployed four Su-30MKI fighter jets and a 96-member team to join air forces from the US, Germany, Greece, Portugal, and other NATO allies. The exercise focuses on interoperability, coalition tactics, and air combat skills, marking a new milestone in India–Spain defence ties and enhancing India’s global reputation as a strategic and capable aerospace power.
