· India has become the first country in Asia to launch Plastic Pact, a new platform to promote the circular system for plastics.
· The India Plastics Pact platform was launched on September 03, 2021 by Alexander Ellis, British High Commissioner to India at the 16th Sustainability Summit organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Important facts
About 'India Plastic Pact':
v The new platform is a joint effort, and the importance of the plastic where the imagination to create a world of 'India Plastic Pact' World-Wide Fund for Nature-India (WWF-India) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and There is no pollution in the environment.
v The agreement targets to transition businesses to a circular economy for plastics by 2030.
v The initiative is supported by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and WRAP, a global NGO based in the UK, and supported by the British High Commission in India.
