According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, India has become the world’s 6th largest patent filer, with over 64,000 patents, more than 55% filed by resident innovators—a major shift driven by strong policy support and a growing innovation ecosystem. Speaking at INNOTECH’25, he highlighted India’s jump from Rank 81 to 38 in the Global Innovation Index. He said achievements like Chandrayaan-3, the world’s first DNA vaccine, and rising deep-tech startups reflect India’s scientific advancement.
India became the largest supplier of cotton products to the United States in 2025, surpassing China for the first time in recent years.
