The Indian men’s kabaddi team beat Iran 42-32 in a high-voltage final to defend its Asian Championships title 2023 at the Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Seokdang Cultural Center in Busan, Republic of Korea.
Indian captain Pawan Sehrawat led from the front with a super 10.
It was India’s eighth title in the continental championships.
Six teams - India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong - participated in the Championships. India won all five matches in the league stage and topped the points table.
India had beaten arch-rivals Pakistan in the final in the last edition held in Iran in 2017.
