The Indian Navy is hosting the fifth Indo-Indonesian Joint Bilateral Maritime Exercise, ‘Samudra Shakti – 2025’, at Visakhapatnam from October 14–17, 2025. The exercise aims to strengthen cooperation, interoperability, and tactical coordination between the two navies to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Participating ships include India’s INS Kavaratti and Indonesia’s KRI John Lie. Activities include harbour-phase professional interactions and sea-phase operations like helicopter maneuvers, air defense drills, weapon firing, and VBSS exercises. Initiated in 2018 under India’s Act East Policy, the exercise highlights the strategic maritime partnership between India and Indonesia.
