India and Brunei held the inaugural meeting of their Joint Working Group (JWG) on Defence Cooperation in New Delhi, establishing a formal mechanism to strengthen bilateral military ties. The platform will focus on joint training, maritime security, humanitarian and disaster relief (HADR), and defence industry collaboration. Terms of Reference were signed to guide future engagement. The meeting underscores both countries’ commitment to a peaceful, rules-based Indo-Pacific and provides a structured roadmap for expanding defence and technology partnerships.
