The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has for the first time launched a local weather forecasting system for the Sabarimala pilgrimage, similar to the Amarnath and Char Dham yatras.
The IMD announced that its regional centre has installed three rain gauges at Sannidhanam, Pamba, and Nilackal to issue a three-day weather forecast.
This is the first time that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is providing local weather forecast for Sabarimala like its services for Amarnath and Char Dham Yatra.
