  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has for the first time launched a local weather forecasting system for the Sabarimala pilgrimage, similar to the Amarnath and Char Dham yatras.
  • The IMD announced that its regional centre has installed three rain gauges at Sannidhanam, Pamba, and Nilackal to issue a three-day weather forecast.
  • This is the first time that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is providing local weather forecast for Sabarimala like its services for Amarnath and Char Dham Yatra.
