  • Ropesh Goyal of IIT Kanpur was awarded the 'Young Geospatial Scientist Award for his outstanding contributions to the development of the Indian Geoid Model and calculating tools.
  • During the inaugural ceremony of the DigiSmart India 2021 conference organised by Geospatial World, AS Kiran Kumar, Member of the Indian Space Commission and former Chairman of ISRO gave the award to Goyal.
  • The 'Young Geospatial Scientist award and a gold medal are presented every year since 2011 to a promising scientist below 35 years of age in memory of Rachapudi Kamakshi, a strategic analyst with a strong inclination towards geography and geospatial studies.
