Category : Science and Tech Published on: July 28 2025
Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati have developed a sustainable plastic substitute made from Bambusa tulda (a bamboo species) combined with biodegradable polymers. Designed for automotive interiors, the material is heat-resistant, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly—suitable for dashboards and door panels. This innovation aligns with India’s goals of sustainability and self-reliance under the ‘Make in India’ campaign.
