  • The International Cricket Council (ICC) on 30 October 2024 announced the appointment of Sumathi Dharmavardhana P.C. He has been appointed as the new independent chairman of the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU).
  • According to a press release issued by the ICC, Dharmavardhan will replace Sir Ronnie Flanaghan, who has retired from this post after 14 years.
  • Dharmavardhana brings a variety of experience including serving as Additional Solicitor General in the Attorney General's Department of Sri Lanka, in which he represents the Government of Sri Lanka including the Ministry of Sports in various legal matters.
