The International Cricket Council (ICC) and UNICEF have launched the ‘Promise to Children’ campaign during the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. The initiative aims to promote children’s rights, including education, health, nutrition, safe water and protection from violence, using cricket’s global popularity. Activities include cricket clinics, interactions with players and awareness campaigns during live broadcasts. Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana and Indian vice-captain Smriti Mandhana serve as campaign ambassadors. ICC Chairman Jay Shah emphasized providing equal opportunities to boys and girls, while UNICEF highlighted the role of cricket in positively transforming children’s lives.
