The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the creation of 5 new districts in the Union Territory of Ladakh—Zanskar, Drass, Sham, Nubra, and Changthang—bringing the total number of districts in Ladakh to 7.
The Ladakh administration has been instructed by the MHA to form a committee to assess the headquarters, boundaries, and structure of the new districts.
