  • Haryana will introduce CM Shri Schools, modelled on the central government’s PM Shri Schools initiative, announced by State Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda during the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. These schools will follow the CBSE curriculum and aim to enhance the quality of state-run education through modern infrastructure, skill-based learning, and standardized academic practices.
  • The initiative aligns with Right to Education (RTE) Act provisions, with 25% reservation for students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) and Disadvantaged Groups (DG) in private schools. Last year, over 11,800 students secured admissions under this scheme, promoting inclusive education.
  • By adopting the PM Shri model, CM Shri Schools will feature modern classrooms, experiential learning, and adherence to National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 standards. The move is expected to improve learning outcomes, standardize curriculum, and uplift Haryana’s education ecosystem, combining quality reforms with equitable access for all students.
