  • The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has handed over the World Bank-funded Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal to IRC Natural Resources under a public-private partnership framework.
  • IRC Natural Resources won the bid with a royalty of ₹105.03 per metric tonne of cargo.
  • The initiative is part of the Jal Marg Vikas Project (JMVP) to enhance cargo handling along the 1,390 km National Waterway-1 connecting Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.
