The Gujarat government organised the "River Utsav" to recognise rivers' contributions to the state's growth and to raise public awareness about river protection.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended the state-level event and gave Vedic hymns to Goddess Tapi on the banks of the Tapi River.
This program has been started in honor of rivers as part of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' being celebrated across the country.
