  • With an aim to boost manufacturing of semiconductors in the state and creating some two lakh jobs over the next five years, Gujarat became the first state to launch a Semiconductor Policy 2022-27.
  • The policy was announced and unveiled by Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, and it offers a slew of incentives and subsidies to manufacture semiconductors.
  • In addition, the state proposes to develop a special “Semicon City” which would be part of the Dholera Special Investment Region.
