  • Under this plan, heavy fines will now be imposed on vehicles that are clearly causing pollution.
  • Trucks going to the National Capital Region will be routed through the Eastern and Western Peripheries.
  • Every year during winter the national capital battles eye-stinging smog and severely toxic air.
  • This mainly includes stubble burning in neighboring states and the situation is worsening due to pollution caused by firecrackers during Diwali.
