The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment launches the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana to empower senior citizens in India.
The Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) is a scheme launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in India to empower senior citizens and ensure their well-being and social inclusion.
It is a Central Sector Scheme, which is formerly known as National Action Plan for Senior Citizens.
Its vision is to create a society where senior citizens live healthy, happy and empowered life.
The scheme aims to address the financial, healthcare, and social needs of elderly citizens, recognizing their valuable contributions to society.
