  • Amit Shah, the Minister of Home Affairs, has released the Good Governance Index 2021. (GGI 2021).
  • This index has been prepared by the Central Administration Reforms and Public Grievances Department.
  • According to the index, in the year 2021, at least 20 states have improved their total GGI rankings.
  • In the GGI-2021, the states, and union territories were divided into four groups: Group A, Group B, Northeast, and Hill States, and Union Territories.
  • Gujarat has been ranked at the top of the "Group A" index. Maharashtra came in second, While Goa has got third place.
  • Madhya Pradesh finished first in "Group B," followed by Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
  • The national capital, Delhi, ranked first overall in the Union Territories category. Mizoram ranked first in both the Northeast and the Hill State.
