  • Recently the Global Hunger Index was released by Concern Worldwide and Welthunger Hilfe.
  • This was the 18th edition of the Global Hunger Index.
  • A total of 125 countries have been included in this index.
  • India's rank is 111th among these 125 countries.
  • India has slipped 4 places compared to the year 2022.
  • India was ranked 107th in the year 2022.
  • The global report said that the level of hunger in India is serious with a score of 28.7 in the 2023 Global Hunger Index.
  • G.H.I. In the report, Pakistan has been ranked at 102nd, Bangladesh at 81st, Nepal at 69th and Sri Lanka at 60th.
  • G.H.I. The report said that India's child wasting rate is the highest at 18.7 percent, which shows extreme malnutrition.
  • The category of child wasting includes those children who do not gain enough weight or lose weight due to inadequate food or diseases.
  • Belarus occupies the top position in this index.
  • That means the situation in Belarus is the best.
  • The last position i.e. 125th is Central African Republic.
