Gates Foundation and OpenAI roll out $50 million ‘Horizon1000’ initiative for African healthcare:

The Gates Foundation, in collaboration with OpenAI, has launched a $50 million initiative named Horizon1000 to deploy AI-based solutions in 1,000 primary healthcare centres across Africa by 2028. The project will start in Rwanda before expanding to other nations. The AI tools will assist in patient registration, triage, documentation, follow-ups, referrals, and providing medical information in local languages.
