In the recently concluded GST Council meeting, The maximum age limit of the Chairperson and members of the Appellate Tribunal has been changed.
G.S.T.A.T. The maximum age of the Chairman was fixed at 70 years and the maximum age of the members was fixed at 67 years respectively.
Earlier, the maximum age of the Chairman and members was 67 years and 65 years respectively.
In September, 2023, the Central Government has announced 31 GST reforms across the country. The formation of the Appellate Tribunal was approved.
The GST Council is chaired by the Union Finance Minister.
