  • Fumio Kishida was re-elected as Japan’s prime minister after his governing party scored a major victory in key parliamentary elections.
  • Fumio Kishida was elected as prime minister by Japan's parliament just a month ago. It was only after being elected PM that Fumio Kishida decided to hold elections, in which his party won 261 seats in the 465-member lower house.
  • Fumio Kishida has been re-elected as the Prime Minister after his Liberal Democratic Party secured a majority in a special parliament session, during the elections held on October 31, 2021, in the House of Representatives.
