  • These 7 states are – Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
  • These seven states have been formed on the basis of the States Reorganization Act.
  • Punjab and Haryana were reorganized on November 1, 1966.
  • Karnataka and Kerala were formed on November 1, 1956.
  • Andhra Pradesh state was created on 1 November 1956.
  • On November 1, 2000, Chhattisgarh state was formed by separating 16 Chhattisgarhi-speaking districts from Madhya Pradesh.
  • After the reorganization of the states, the new state Madhya Pradesh came into existence on 1 November 1956.
