The foundation day of 7 states is celebrated every year on 1 November in the country.
These 7 states are – Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
These seven states have been formed on the basis of the States Reorganization Act.
Punjab and Haryana were reorganized on November 1, 1966.
Karnataka and Kerala were formed on November 1, 1956.
Andhra Pradesh state was created on 1 November 1956.
On November 1, 2000, Chhattisgarh state was formed by separating 16 Chhattisgarhi-speaking districts from Madhya Pradesh.
After the reorganization of the states, the new state Madhya Pradesh came into existence on 1 November 1956.
