Senior Congress leader and former Jharkhand and Assam governor Syed Sibte Razi (83) passed away in Lucknow.
Born on March 7, 1939 in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, he started his political career as a student leader and then joined active politics in Congress.
He served as governor of Jharkhand from 2004 to 2009 and Assam during 2009.
He was made president of the Youth Congress in 1971, a post he held till 1973.
Syed Sibte Razi was elected thrice to Rajya Sabha.
