  • Konijeti Rosaiah, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, died in Hyderabad.
  • Rosaiah, the senior Congress Party leader, held a number of positions during his nearly five-decade public career. He had previously served as an MLA, MLC, and Lok Sabha member.
  • The former Chief Minister, who was a political disciple of Swatantra Party leader and independence activist, was elected as MLC in 1968, 1974, 1980, and 2009 and as an MLA in 1989 and 2004 from Chirala assembly constituency.
  • He was also the Governor of Karnataka for two months and the Governor of Tamil Nadu from 2011 to 2016.
