Union Minister Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi launched the Version 4.0 Price Monitoring System (PMS) Mobile App, expanding the Department of Consumer Affairs' monitoring to 38 commodities from 22, now covering 31% of the CPI weights.
The newly added items include essential goods like Bajra, Ghee, and Black Pepper, with the government allocating Rs 10,000 crore under the price stabilization fund (PSF) for the 2024-25 Union Budget to stabilize prices and ensure affordability of pulses.
