The first tripartite power delivery project from Nepal to Bangladesh through the Indian grid was inaugurated on 15 November 2024.
Power Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the project virtually along with Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Bangladesh Faizul Kabir Khan and Energy Minister of Nepal Deepak Khadka.
This is the first tripartite power agreement entered into through the Indian grid.
The government had announced the scheme during the visit of Nepal's former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to India last year.
