  • The first tripartite power delivery project from Nepal to Bangladesh through the Indian grid was inaugurated on 15 November 2024. 
  • Power Minister Manohar Lal inaugurated the project virtually along with Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Bangladesh Faizul Kabir Khan and Energy Minister of Nepal Deepak Khadka. 
  • This is the first tripartite power agreement entered into through the Indian grid.
  • The government had announced the scheme during the visit of Nepal's former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to India last year.
