  • Recently the Periodic Labor Force Survey Report 2022-23 was released by the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation.
  • According to this report, the female labor force participation rate in the country has increased to 37%.
  • This rate was 32.6% in the year 2021 - 22.
  • Thus, the female labor force participation rate has increased by 4.2% compared to the previous year.
  • This significant jump in the female labor force participation rate is a result of the government's decisive program of ensuring women empowerment through policy initiatives aimed at the long-term socio-economic and political development of women.
  • Government initiatives span the life cycle of women, including large-scale initiatives for girls' education, skill development, entrepreneurship facilitation and safety in the workplace.
