  • The extended-range Pinaka (Pinaka-ER) Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher System was successfully tested at Rajasthan's Pokhran Range by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
  • The system was created by the DRDO Laboratory Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) in collaboration with the Pune-based High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL).
  • The 'Pinaka' - ER is an updated variant of the older Pinaka, which has served with the Indian Army for the past decade. The system was created to meet emerging needs, with sophisticated technology extending the range.
