The 11th edition of the India–Sri Lanka joint military exercise “Exercise MITRA SHAKTI-2025” began on November 10, 2025, at the Foreign Training Node in Belagavi, Karnataka, and will continue till November 23. The exercise involves 170 Indian Army personnel from the Rajput Regiment and 135 Sri Lankan soldiers from the Gajaba Regiment, along with Air Force participants from both nations. Focused on counter-terrorism and sub-conventional operations under the UN mandate, it aims to strengthen defence cooperation, interoperability and promote peacekeeping and humanitarian capabilities between the two countries.
