PC Mody has been named the new secretary-general of the Rajya Sabha, just weeks before the start of the Winter Session of Parliament, which is scheduled to begin on November 29.
He will succeed PPK Ramacharyulu.
PC Mody is the first officer from the Indian Revenue Services (IRS) to hold the position of Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha, which is normally held by a Senior IAS Officer.
PPK Ramacharyulu was appointed advisor to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat for one year.
