The Rajaji Raghati Biosphere (RRB), situated within the Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand, spans a 35-acre private forest initiative.
This biosphere focuses on identifying and reviving rare and endangered species of native trees, transforming previously barren and degraded land by removing non-native eucalyptus trees and implementing water retention, erosion prevention, and groundwater recharge techniques.
Environmentalists Jai Dhar Gupta and Vijay Dhasmana have established India's first biosphere within a tiger reserve. Named the Rajaji Raghati Biosphere (RRB), it is located in the Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand.
This initiative continues their mission to protect and restore native ecosystems while combating threats like poaching and mining.
