  • Ben Stokes, the England all-rounder, announced his decision to retire from ODI cricket.
  • He added that he will be playing his last ODI for England against South Africa in Durham.
  • Stokes, who made his debut in 2011 against Ireland, will be playing his last ODI at his home ground.
  • In 104 matches so far, he has scored 2,919 runs at an average of 39.44 and taken 74 wickets.
  • Stokes' decision follows his recent appointment as England's Test captain as Joe Root's successor.
  • Stokes captained the ODI side during last summer's 3-0 series victory against Pakistan.
