Emma Raducanu, the winner of the US Open, has been named BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2021.
In the 67-year history of the trophy, she is only the third WTA (Women's Tennis Association) player to receive it.
Raducanu defeated Leylah Fernandez in the Flushing Meadows final in September 2021, becoming the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title.
