  • The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill has been passed by Parliament with the Rajya Sabha to link electoral roll with Aadhar.
  • The law has been passed in the Upper House (Rajya Sabha), despite the opposition's walkout. On December 20, 2021, the bill was passed by the Lok Sabha.
  • This bill will now be delivered to the President, and if he signs it, it will become law.
  • The Bill's major goal is to make it possible to integrate electoral roll data to the AADHAAR ecosystem.
  • This will address the problem of the same person being enrolled in various electoral rolls in different places.
