Egypt Discovers Major Natural Gas Field in Western Desert

Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced a new natural gas discovery in the Badr-15 area of the Western Desert. The field, now connected to production operations, yields 16 million cubic feet of gas per day and adds about 15 billion cubic feet of reserves from the Lower Bahariya reservoir. This discovery strengthens Egypt’s domestic energy capacity, boosts exports, and reinforces its position as a leading natural gas producer in North Africa and the Mediterranean region.
