  • Recently DRDO has announced the launch of air defense system named 'Project Kush'.
  • The system will be able to detect and destroy enemy projectiles and armor, including cruise missiles, stealth fighter jets and drones at long ranges.
  • This indigenous system will include long-range surveillance and fire control radar and interceptor missiles.
  • This system will be capable of detecting and destroying targets at a range of 150 km to 200 km.
  • The government has allocated Rs 21700 crore for the development of Project Kush.
  • This system will be developed by DRDO by the year 2028-29.
