Dr. Suresh Jadhav, the Executive Director of the Serum Institute of India (SII), died at the age of 72 after a protracted illness.
Dr. Jadhav was credited with helping to develop the Covishield vaccine for COVID-19.
Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, WHO's Chief Scientist, sent her sympathies to Dr. Jadhav's family.
