  • A distinguished soldier and a prominent member of the Kashmiri pandit community General (retd.) Tej Kaul, PVSM, AVSM, VSM was awarded the prestigious Dr Nirmala Deshpande Memorial Global Peace Award.
  • General Kaul was honoured with the coveted award for his outstanding contribution to the continuous efforts to promote peace between Indian neighbours, primarily India and Pakistan and various humanitarian causes, especially for his efforts in relief and rehabilitation during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • He has served as Assistant Military Secretary at Army Headquarters, Deputy Director-General, Military Intelligence-Foreign Division, and the General Officer Commanding, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa Area.
