The Indian Vaccine Manufacturers Association (IVMA) announced Bharat Biotech co-founder and executive chairman Dr Krishna M Ella as the new president of the association for a period of two years from April 2024-2026.
Prior to Krishna Ella, Adar C Poonawalla was serving as the president of IVMA.
Their goal is to strengthen collaboration between vaccine manufacturers and researchers and get policymakers to accelerate vaccine development.
IVMA is taking various steps to ensure developing countries have access to affordable vaccines.
Along with this, appointments have been made to other important positions, such as Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, and Director General of the Biological Unit.
