  • Dr. Imtiaz Suleman, an Indian-origin philanthropist and the founder of the disaster relief organisation "Gift of the Givers," has been chosen for the prestigious "South African of the Year" award, which is run by the 'Daily Maverick' newspaper.
  • He has received numerous honours. South African and foreign heads of state have praised him for his organization's assistance in times of crisis.
  • Dr. Imtiaz Suleiman's work has also received international acclaim. 
  • Dr. Imtiaz Suleiman has also been named a "social justice champion" by Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape province earlier this year and has also been awarded the National Order, South Africa's highest civilian honour.
