  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) recommended Dr. B.N. Gangadhar was appointed as the Chairman of the National Medical Commission. 
  • Prior to this, he was the chairman of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board. Dr. Sanjay Bihari, Director, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board. 
  • Their appointments are for a period of four years, until they attain the age of 70 years.
