In October 2023, the Development Committee meeting of the World Bank was held in Marrakesh city of Morocco.
This was the 108th Development Committee meeting of the World Bank.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participated in this meeting from India's side.
The theme of the meeting was 'Ending poverty on a livable planet - Report to the Governors on Development for the World Bank'.
At the meeting, India advocated the World Bank's new vision, focusing on eliminating extreme poverty.
The World Bank was established in the year 1944.
Presently its president is Ajay Banga.
